El Nido, Palawan... it is one of the most wondrous tourist spot in the Philippines. A winning place close to heaven's paradise... Sun bathe on the a blanket of white sand beneath the gushing clear waves. You can go diving, kayaking, snorkeling, fishing and even rock climbing... These are the activities you can take pleasure of, within the wide vicinity of this amazing resort. It is doubtless why it seizes the interest of almost every tourist.
However, behind its inviting beauty is the danger of being abducted by a group of local terrorists related to the Alqueda of Iran, known as the Abu Sayyaf. The morbid news have gotten into everybody else's window. Many foreigners were kidnapped by these revolutionists. Some never escaped their nails and that were ruthlessly beheaded. The horrifying video footage was shown in the news!
I am not saying don't go there, of course the decision lies in you. Perhaps the vacation area have more strict security than it used to have before, but will you still put your neck at risk in exchange of a week of escapade galore? If you insist to court threats and hazards for curiosity sake, I suggest you get a copy of Peter Greenberg's book, Don't Go There and explore in your mind first, some alarming and life-endangering places to travel around the world.
