Looking back on my crying moments, I saw this particular "Public Service" type of advertisement. The celebrity endorser was Lorna Tolentino. It was about Breast Cancer Awareness. She illustrated the proper breast self-examination. To feed my curiosity, I followed her instructions. I felt dying when I found a lump. I wept every single hour of the day. I asked my mom to accompany me to a hospital. I wanted to have a Breast Ultrasound. The findings showed that I have a fibrocystic breast. A number of cysts were seen, but were said to be benign. My OB reminded me to retake the same procedure regularly every six months, since my late Grandmother had breast cancer.
My sister, was that time a private nurse of a patient in our neighborhood who has Breast Cancer. She used to ask me to come with her. I bet she was trying to scare the hell out of me. (I don't want to see a sick person).
Still she continued telling stories about that lady.
"Her eyes were yellowish. It is my duty to inject her protein, which is essential for her body. She would always utter, " I wanna die.. I wanna die"
I managed not to look at lady's house, for I always had a fright inside of me.
